About us

Communal Bodies creates wellness environments for ritual, restoration, and collective care.

Founded by Mary Minas, an entrepreneur and experience designer whose background spans wellness, startups, and filmmaking, Communal Bodies develops environments designed for social connection, nervous system regulation, and collective restoration.

Mary co-founded and led Sense Of Self (SOS), one of Australia’s leading wellness destinations and brands, growing it to welcome over 37,000 guests annually, before a successful exit.

Her practice explores how contemporary hospitality can draw from ancient bathing cultures and collective rituals to create spaces that feel joyful and truly welcoming.

We bring something most specialists don't: we've built, operated, and exited a category-defining venue ourselves.

Our goal is to help hospitality groups, developers, and cultural brands translate the growing demand for rest, ritual, and sensory experience into meaningful places.

Projects may take the form of new bathhouse concepts, wellness environments within hotels, recovery spaces, or advisory work shaping how rest and ritual are integrated into a guest journey.

Communal Bodies believes the next era of wellness will be collective rather than individual — environments where people gather to regulate, restore, and reconnect.
